Zimbabwean teen, Tinotenda Mudzingwa, aced her Matric exams to become the overall best student in South Africa’s Gauteng Province, a story that has lightened up the mood on social media with Zimbabweans singing her praises.
She was awarded the prize for her excellence at a prestigious national awards ceremony in Pretoria yesterday.
Speaking to South African TV network, eNCA, the whizkid said the  learning environment she was given by her school, Greeenfield High propelled her to excellence.
“What I really appreciated about my school is that they offered too many extra lessons. So even if you didn’t feel like studying alone at home or felt like you  did not understand fully, there was always a teacher who was ready to help,” the jovial Mudzingwa said.
Her mother, Agnes Mudzingwa, could not hide her joy and advised her daughter to follow her heart and do what satisfies her.
She said, ” My main hope is for her to achieve her goals in life. I just want her to be satisfied with whatever she is going to do and I want her to achieve it.”

Tinotenda Mudzingwa attained a 95 percent average and her results are as follows:
English Home Language 97%, Afrikaans First Additional Language 95%, Maths 96%, Life Orientation 95%, Information Technology 97%, Life Sciences 97%, Physical Science 99%, AP Maths 86%.
She and other top achievers will each receive a four year  bursary to a University of their choice.
Zimbabweans  could not help themselves but brag about the girls’s excellence.
“you do not need to be a rocket scientist to know that she is Zimbabwean,” said twitter user @Mashringo.
Another proud user @dmugadza said, “Well done, you make us feel proud.”
