ZVISHAVANE-Shabani Mine FC revived their hopes of staying in the top flight football next season when they shocked title aspirants Ngezi Platinum FC with a 1-0 defeat over the weekend at Maglas Stadium
Bvaru- bvaru who have been a pale shadow of themselves having last won a league match during the first round of matches followed by a string of poor results, redeemed itself as a team worth reckoning by surprising hapless Ngezi Platinum FC who found themselves dropping to position four from two they previously held.
The mining town of Zvishavane was painted maroon as jubilant Bvaru fans went around celebrating a rare win which most never thought would come against a strong team like Ngezi.
A jubilant fan, Luckson Ncube said, “We are proud that we managed to stop a strong team at Maglas, we never thought that we were going to win considering that we were not playing well lately.”
Bvaru – bvaru coach, Takesure Chiragwi thanked all the fans who thronged Maglas stadium to support his boys when they went past Ngezi Platinum.
“Fans are our 12th man they are our strength, I am very happy with their response. Today we are one family, if we are together we fight for one cause, we don’t have to fight each other or to point fingers at one another. If they continue singing like this the boys will be motivated and fight for their team,” he said.
Ngezi Platinum gaffer, Tonderai Ndiraya said its game on for his men despite losing crucial points at the hands of Shabani.
WE ARE WORRIED WE DROPPED POINTS, WE DON’T WANT TO DROP POINTS. SHABANI CAME PREPARED FOR US, THEY HAVE DONE THEIR HOMEWORK WELL,
