Lorrance Melvine Nkomazana a.k.a Lamas Ellz is a powerful local Afro Fusion of Hip Hop and RnB musician. Born on 12 November 1994, Lamas Ellz attended schools such as Thomas Rudland, Moray, Baines Junior, Samahuru, Mavela Secondary and Tsholotsho High School we he started rhyming. His professional musical journey began in 2016 where he dropped his debut single, Who We Are which featured the late hip hop maestro Cal_Vin.
Lamas Ellz went to release singles such as: Fear the World featuring Sparks Miller, Fait Accompli featuring Benny Jones & Navy Seal, Fere Fere featuring Sparks Miller, Clap Back and Summer Vibe featuring Sandra Ndebele and Mzoe 7. Some of the singles which have music videos are Fere Fere, Fak’ Umoya Remix, Qhubeka, Va-Va Voom, Summer Vibe, Hope and Hustle. During the course of his career, he has worked with producers such as Murphy Cubic, Larynx, Collinbeats, Stoner Tornado, Fish F Ndaramu and SeeWelltone.
His current song, ‘City of Kings featuring Various Artists’ was inspired by Counsellor David Coltart’s vision of building a new Bulawayo which is keeping the city clean and making it a safe environment for everyone dwelling in it. Artists featuring on the new song are Mlue Jay, Mahcoy, Terry Tempo, Pre Young, Scarrah, Curry C, Rocki Doub, HiGness, Ganyaz Jnr and P.O.Y. This hope-filled number was produced by Stoner Tornado and Collus Move. This reporter got a chance to listen to it being launched live on air.
