After they were embarrassingly knocked out of the CAF Champions League in the preliminary stage by Clube Dosportivo de Agosto of Angola FC Platinum found themselves wondering without their Shepard as Norman Mapeza vanished into thin air on the pretext of being sick.
In a recently released press statement, FC Platinum president George Mawere dismissed allegations that Mapeza had resigned affirming that their employee was on sick leave.
“FC Platinum wishes to advise the public that Norman Mapeza is on sick leave. It’s our hope that he will return to work fully recovered as we prepare to defend our historic Premier League title in the 2018 season,” said Mawere.
But the rat seems to be rotting too fast and the smell has overwhelmed ‘Pure Platinum Play’ followers as the Clubs Communications Officer, Chido Chizondo told the media that Mapeza was going to be absent for some time.
‘’We have appointed Lizwe Svesve as our caretaker coach in the absence of the ‘ailing’ Mapeza. Mapeza is going to be away for maybe a month or two,’’ said Chizondo.
The newly appointed Svesve believes his charges are strong enough to defend their title as they have rectified the mistakes they made during the Caf Champions League.
FC Platinum will play their first match away to ZPC Kariba, a team they have never beaten away in Kariba.
