Bulawayo based Utloanang Valela also known as Fish F Mc Swagg dropped a new single titled Mbali yami this Wednesday.
The 23-year old artiste discovered his identity as a ‘king’ in the heart of a conscious peculiar sound called African trap.
McSwagg hopes to potray a message of love through this orchestral trap ballad that aches with a regretful tone in its opening lines. The song Mbali Yami talks about a love affair that’s gone wrong. The song is about a toxic relationship and the feelings of attachment and resentment in such a relationship. Fish literally takes us through a love story that’s interpreted with his freely emotional and exceptionally controlled sound. “It’s a story of two star crossed lovers who love each other so deeply yet the other one remains insecure in fear of getting a broken heart,” he said.
His queer style of vocals is stunningly unique. The lyrics of this song makes you want to fall in love again.
“When I wrote the song, my idea was to bring out a message of love,” said the trap master.
The conscious tune provokes a lot of emotions, by listening to the song you get to connect with the singers feelings and frustrations brought out by a stubborn but loving heart.
Fish is a lover and his music is poetic, deep and soothing. It’s a sound that will heal a broken heart.
Apart from the track Mbali Yami, he has also done a few other tracks like Lona and collaborated with T1nda in the song Majarakara. His level of creativity is unimaginable and his daring spirit makes him outstanding not just as an artiste but also as a sense of hope through his poetic ability to convey a message on the issues of the heart.
McSwagg is a dynamic artiste has proved that he can also sing without auto tune. His music is not limited to a specific type of people but anyone in Zimbabwe gets an experience of his cool sound. The youthful singer hopes to bring a different spark to the music industry. He hopes to see every other artiste being appreciated and recognized.
He is currently working on another single track that’s going to feature hip-hop star Asaph. The track mambo
will be launched on the 23rd of this month. Mc Swagg discovered his music talent sometime in 2011 when it was all rap. He has now transformed into an African trap musician.
Raised in the dusty streets of Nkulumane, he worked his way up in the music industry and met Clinton Ncube, who is now his manager. Ncube stipulates that McSwagg work carries an element of realism . “The music industry is one of the most paying businesses yet it still remains the riskiest approaches to earn a living. The arts industry is in need of people who are not only going to identify talent but also grow and nature it by investing into its fulfillment. Theres a huge number of musicians, who are being looked down upon by other legendary players in the arts industry”. Fish F Mc Swagg is currently working on the music video of this amazing track which is going to be shot in Nyamandlovu.
